October 17, 2008 - Moosejaw Pizza ' Brewing Company brewmaster Jamie Martin just won a silver medal at the 2008 Great American Beer Festival for her Dells Chief Amber Ale. She has worked at the Wisconsin Dells brewpub for just over three years, starting as a brewer's apprentice and working her way up to a paid position. Wisconsin beers win at Great American Beer Festival 2008
October 13, 2008 - Capital Brewery of Middleton won a gold medal for its Autumnal Fire in the German-style Strong Bock category. Among the Scottish-Style Ales, the Wisconsin Dells Brewing Company brought home a silver medal for Dells Chief Amber Ale. Additionally, the Great Dane Pub ' Brewery captured a bronze medal for its 1999 vintage of Old Scratch Barley Wine in the old or strong ale category.

Two Marshfield Sites Added to State Historical Registry
August 23, 2008 - Marshfield can brag about two sites that are now a part of the Wisconsin Register of Historic Places. The first is the neighborhood around the Upham Mansion, which houses the North Wood County Historical Society. The other is the Parkin Place building, a former dairy that now houses the Central Waters Brewpub and West 14th restaurants.
